What's Up at WRLG

FROM THE FARMERS POINT OF VIEW
Yesterday was a wonderful day....I had a new Sump Pump installed, no water in the basement now. and I rearranged the perches in the chicken house and the young girls are much happier. The sheep like to lean against the chicken fence and the chickens come and pick stuff out of their coats.
This evening I pickled some golden and red beets. I went out to walk the dog and it was sleeting..........it is 37 degrees and it is October 17th......what's the deal with that? Last night I roasted the onions, Roma tomatoes, sweet red peppers , jalapeno peppers and hot banana peppers. This evening while listening to the Red Sox game I will add the rest of the ingredients to the roasted veggies , take the immersion blender to the whole lot and cook it briefly to get it hot enough to can it.
So today there are still tomatoes to roast, pesto to make. but I need to go to the dump first before I can fire up the stove.
Since Brandon's death, I have had family and friends helping me to reorganize my house and this has produced many bags that need to go to the dump and to Goodwill. |
