FROM THE FARMERS POINT OF VIEW
With the drought the fall colors have come early. The weather has provided us with an 5 inches of rain since the beginning of the month but we need more.I will not complain about the rain....we need it desperately. The leaves turned so quickly , it was kind of shocking, but it is good for farming and Agritourism apple and pumpkin picking are good outside activities for a pandemic! This Weekend I will be helping on Sunday October 4th at Pustizzi's Fruit Farm in Boscawen at their pumpkin, scarecrow hay ride, socially distanced of course. I will have my Good Things in Jars there in the the store all weekend . The Scarecrows have been donated by local businesses and individuals, you make a silent bid on the scarecrow of your choice and the money all goes to the Boscawen Congregational Church Food Pantry. If your bid wins you get the scarecrow for your own and help to feed your neighbors and friends at the same time. Farmer Joe and Side kick Heather have been working hard and the property is beautiful, peaceful and a great place to hang out . find a pumpkin and go for a hay ride that will bring you to a place with an incredible view! Hope you can come Saturday and Sunday 10-4 pm October 3 & 4 ,2020 |
