FROM THE FARMERS POINT OF VIEW
We are in a drought and the weather has gone from hot and dry to cold and dry. This has increased our risk of fire. At the Farmers Market in Contoocook on Saturday there was a small fire on the edge of the parking lot that is behind the park. The Fire department arrived and put it out ...but the houses there are close together and the tree cover and brush is extensive.
On another note it is time to close the storm windows and do some weatherizing. Just as I had the foam can in my hand the applicator escaped and foam went everywhere and the phone rang.....Clean up came first ,luckily it was soap and water clean up. Still need to move the chicks and get the trailer ready for them. I haven't quite gotten a way to keep the wild girls from escaping from the front door of trailer coop. But I think I have a solution, I just need to measure it this morning to see if it will work. I have measured and found an old dog pen panel that will work. I have cleaned out the rest of the floor and have covered 3 of the 4 windows with hardware cloth. I need to go to the hardware store to get a latch, hardware cloth and staples. I am waiting for the floor to dry before I can do the bedding and food for the young layers. Pictures to come ! Comments are closed.
