FARM BLOG
FROM THE FARMERS POINT OF VIEW
September has come and gone and October is now coming to a close. things on the farm are moving along and the farmers markets are heading inside in November. The weather has been changeable to say the least but finally my Tomatillo plants have started to produce mature fruit and not just empty husks. The tomatoes are done and the cukes just fizzled out, but my arugula and herbs are going like gang busters! My red opal basil flowered long ago but the Genovese basil has not flowered and had survived the cold snap.....I am amazed.
This last week of October has been rainy and the sheep are looking a bit ratty as they go out in the field to eat the leaves that have fallen with the rain and look a little worse for wear. I finally got the chicken coop clean and revamped for the new laying hens. It took a while, but the young layers are happy and secure. Comments are closed.
