What's Up at WRLG
FARM BLOG
FROM THE FARMERS POINT OF VIEW
We have had over 5 inches of rain since the beginning of July...although I may have forgotten to record the amount of inches some days after I dumped the water out of the rain gauge.
Unfortunately with the rain my old back and pelvis injury from a 2004 auto accident has reared it's ugly head. But I am back to physical therapy and hopefully that will help. But with that said I haven't been able to harvest enough strawberries to fill my 60 lb quota that I need to make many of my strawberry jams and it's variations. But I have had a heavy harvest of wild black raspberries and that will give me a chance to make more blackberry jams and mixes with other fruits. I am hoping to pick Blueberries this weekend and Raspberries during next week. Corn has already started to arrive and I have made spicy corn relish, corn zucchini relish and today I am making Zany Zucchini Pickles (bread and butter type without the onions). Comments are closed.
