What's Up at WRLG
FARM BLOG
FROM THE FARMERS POINT OF VIEW
The month of November felt so short and yet so long with the time falling back to standard time. I find I sleep more and go to bed much later. I need to get up earlier and work outside more to try to acclimate to the time change. I find with it getting darker earlier that chores that don't get done are just pushed off to the next day. The problem with this is many of the chores need to be done before the weather gets too cold or too difficult to do the chore. This bit of early December mild weather has been a big help...but still I am behind....plus I need to do 6 canning jobs to beef up inventory and fulfill orders.
I find the early darkness make it hard to get errands done in a timely manor but with the cases of Covid increasing it makes me not want to do errands that involve too many people. What a weird year this has been.... Moving on: Don't forget orders for the virtual Contoocook Farmers Market close at 11:59 pm on Wednesdays. But you can still order from me by phone(leave a message) or by email : mewsussman@gmail .com and if you want to text me you need to email me your cell number so I can put that in my phone. otherwise your message will get kicked to the trash. I hope everyone had some sort of thanksgiving holiday.....I ate alone with Zorra who was being very hopeful that she was going to get to lick the plate when I was done. It was different but I still emailed my siblings and we took pictures and videos of what our preparations and table looked like at Thanksgiving. It was very relaxed...Before I ate I had a doggie play date with my neighbor Heidi and her dog Mojo. Then on Sunday we had another doggie play date and then we ate Turkey Crepes and pear salad with cranberries outside . Now as my dad would say" Upward and Onward" time to do the canning dishes.
